Skids

A skid is a fully functional system with a compact design, containing various instrumentation, peripherals and other components mounted on a rigid frame. The use of such an installation significantly simplifies and shortens the execution time of many technological processes.

Modern skids

A skid is assumed to be a complete modular installation, up to 5-6 m in length or 10 T in weight. It represents an extensive prefabricated system, including piping, tanks, electrical equipment and other instrumentation. All parts of an installation are mounted on a special frame and connected to each other. A finished skid undergoes welding, assembly and painting works. It is also thoroughly tested and inspected. Once a skid is delivered to its end user, it only needs to be connected. The materials used in the fabrication of a skid depend on its future industrial application, as well as individual design features.

Advantages of skids

Skids are an excellent alternative to traditional structures where individual parts of a system are supplied and installed separately. At the same time, a modular system has all advantages of individual parts, while providing considerable freedom in terms of upgrading. Skids are designed in such a way that their entire structure contains complete instrumentation and allows the target processes to be performed with ease. They are fully self-contained and therefore easy to transport. Their individual components take up less space than in the case of standard structures. An additional advantage is monitored assembly, which does not affect other conducted operations.
